Former Shadow Home Secretary Diane Abbott has said she won't be pulling on her dancing shoes and heading for a spot on Strictly Come Dancing any time soon.
The former shadow home secretary, 66, praised former :Labour Home Secretary Jaqui Smith for agreeing to appear on the hit show.
But the MP insisted she personally would never want to put her dancing skills to the test before a massive audience
Asked if she would join a the growing list of politicians who have swapped Westminster for the dance floor, Ms Abbott was pretty clear.
She told Sky's Sophy Ridge: "You'd be surprised to know I'm not someone with natural rhythm and I didn't want to be exposed to millions of TV viewers."
"I couldn’t possibly do it. I think Jacqui’s very brave," she added.
Former Labour minister, Ms Smith is just the latest politicians to get dancing on our screens.
Previous years have featured ex-Lib Dem leader Vince Cable, and former Labour Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls.
Ms Smith, 57, is best known for being the first female Home Secretary and the Labour MP for Redditch from 1997 until she lost her seat in the 2010 election.
Revealing her place on the Strictly line-up on Radio Two, she joked: "Who doesn't want a fake tan that isn't all streaky like when you put it on yourself?"
"When they asked me to do it I was speechless with excitement, which is pretty unusual for me," Jacqui told Steve Wright.
The former MP then divulged how she's been using lockdown to up her exercise regime after signing up to the show.
"I've been doing some extra running and yoga to make sure it's not too much of a bodyshock," she explained.
