Shadow home secretary Diane Abbott has apologised "sincerely" for drinking a mojito on public transport in London.
A snap of the Labour frontbencher sipping a can of the alcoholic beverage while riding on an Overground train was shared online late last night.
Transport for London (TfL) introduced an alcohol ban on all public transport in the capital in 2008.
Ms Abbott said she was "sincerely sorry" for drinking the Marks and Spencer cocktail.
She wrote on Twitter : "A photo of me drinking from a can of M&S mojito on the Overground has been circulated.
"I'm sincerely sorry for drinking on TFL."

But her decision to flout the TfL regulations appears to have garnered her sympathy - on Twitter at least.
One Twitter user, who changed their username to 'M&S mojito for remain' wrote: "I've never felt more represented".
Philippa Perry replied to Diane Abbott's tweet saying: "Anyway thanks for travelling on the tube like most people have to do."

Another Twitter user wrote: "Of all the mild public order offences to commit, this is the best. Keep up the good work, Diane."
Another said: "Dear Diane, I have to say I'm deeply shocked. You must be the first person in recorded history ever to apologise for drinking on TFL and also to discover that an M&S mojito counts as alcohol".
One Twitter user wrote: "the NHS and drinking tins on trains are the only two noble and honourable british institutions. I stand with diane".
