It's not easy being a politician. Diane Abbott made a bed for herself by complaining to Pink News about "horrible homophobic lyrics" in the songs of many artists from her parents' native Jamaica. The MP says she often challenges that kind of bigotry when she's there. But it's a shame, as the Daily Express reports, that she forgot her own Desert Island Discs choices, which included Buju Banton – a prime offender for at least one song encouraging violence against gay men.
