Diana would be 'proud' of Harry say viewers, as Meghan says he saved her life

Princess Diana would have been bursting with pride about how Prince Harry handled his interview with Oprah Winfrey, viewers say.

Harry lost his mother in a Paris crash back in 1997 and spoke openly about his fear of history repeating itself.

The subject of Diana was raised a number of time in his tell-all chat.

Harry believes his late mother predicted his departure from the Royal Family as she left him money to fund his exit.

He told Oprah that she would have wanted him to force his way out of the establishment.

Viewers say she would have been proud about his decision to quit the UK, how he supported his family and the manner in which he set the record straight.

Taking to Twitter, those watching at home know what Diana would have made of it.

One said: "Didn't expect to cry but my heart broke when Meghan spoke about wanting to die & then again when she spoke of how tight Harry held her hand at the event later. He is a perfect example of how a man should love and protect his wife. Diana would be so proud."

Another wrote: "Meghan and Harry deserve every bit of happiness they have right now and forever, away from the toxic behaviour of the firm. Diana would of been so proud of Harry for not only saving himself, but his wife, son and daughter."

A third added: "Diana would have been right behind him and would have helped him pack his bags."

Another posted: "Diana would be turning in her grave. She also would have been so proud of them both."

Harry told Oprah he was able to make the choice owing to the inheritance his late mother left him as the rest of his family cut him off financially.

Harry said financial support from the royals came to an end when he and Meghan moved to the United States last year.

"I have what my mum left me and without that we wouldn’t have been able to do this," he said of his relocation to Los Angeles.

"It’s like she saw it coming and she’s been with us through this whole process," he added.

It has been reported that Princess Diana left Harry and William £6.5million when she died in 1997 with the money invested so that Harry received roughly £10million when he turned 30.

"I think she saw it coming," he explained to the chat show host.
