Singer Diana Vickers has described what she called a “bizarre” encounter with Leonardo DiCaprio, painting a picture of Hollywood’s culture of power and immaturity.
The 34-year-old former X Factor star spoke on her Just Between Us podcast with co-host Alice Giddings, revealing that years ago, she was invited to DiCaprio’s home by a mutual friend. Expecting a lively party, she said she instead “ended up just sitting with him watching telly.”
“It was a really, really bizarre moment,” she admitted, adding that the Oscar winner probably wouldn’t even remember it. Reflecting on the experience, she described him as “a man in Hollywood with so much fame and power, who doesn’t want to grow up.” She suggested she wasn’t the only young woman brought into his circle in this way. “I think he has this system,” she told the Daily Mail, explaining that he surrounds himself with attractive male friends who “source these hot women for him.”

Vickers stressed that this isn’t unique to DiCaprio, but part of a wider culture in Hollywood. “These men have got so much fame and power, and they don’t want to grow up,” she said. “They just want to be surrounded by beautiful young women all the time. I am not generalising Leo here, I think that’s just what happens. It’s quite weird, actually.”
Her story came during a podcast segment about relationships with big age gaps, where a listener asked for advice. Vickers said she has dated both older and younger men, admitting she struggled more with younger partners because of their “immature energy.”
“One of the last guys I dated was five years younger than me – I did feel it,” she said. “It was why we didn’t work out. When you’re older, you want to put in the graft – you want to see things through. You don’t dwell on smaller things as much. This guy just gave off immature energy – he was constantly holding on to things. I think I may have acted immaturely because he was less mature. It made me feel less of my older, feminine energy. I sort of reverted back. It was a lot of fun, though.”
Meanwhile, DiCaprio himself has been in the headlines after being spotted in Ibiza with girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti, 27. The couple were photographed on a luxury yacht, with DiCaprio showing off a slimmer frame in blue swim shorts while Ceretti caught attention in a thong bikini paired with a baseball cap.
The sighting followed unusually candid comments from DiCaprio in Esquire UK’s Autumn issue, where he reflected on dating as he turned 50. “There is no time to waste,” he admitted, saying he now feels the need to be more upfront about what he wants from a partner, even if that honesty sometimes ends relationships.

DiCaprio and Ceretti were first linked in August 2023, making her one of his most high-profile partners in recent years. Before that, he ended a five-year relationship with actress Camila Morrone in 2022, shortly after she turned 25.
Over the years, the actor has been romantically linked to several models, including Gigi Hadid, Nina Agdal and Toni Garrn, fuelling the long-running idea that he rarely dates women past their mid-twenties. However, not all of his former partners see that as a fair criticism. Kristen Zang, who dated him in the 1990s, defended him in 2022, saying she was the one who ended things after realising she had “outgrown” the relationship.
