The public memorial service for Kobe and Gianna Bryant had a moment or two of levity in the middle of what was a devastating and beautiful tribute to the Los Angeles Lakers legend and his daughter.
WNBA superstar Diana Taurasi was one of the speakers who spoke about Bryant and Gianna, in which she talked about the talent the 13-year-old had on the court. It included a joke about current Laker LeBron James that brought a smile to the crowd, not long after those gathered at the Staples Center watched Vanessa bravely speak about her husband and daughter.
“I mean, who has a turnaround fadeaway jumper at 11?” she said. “LeBron barely got it today.”
The joke came a day after James hit a game-winner against the Boston Celtics with … a fadeaway jumper.
