Diana's biographer shares what he thinks Prince Harry will discuss in memoir

A leading royal author has given an insight into what we should expect from Prince Harry's upcoming autobiography, saying it will focus on key relationships within his family.

Andrew Morton, who worked with Diana, Princess of Wales, for his book Diana: In Her Own Words, said it was hardly "shocking" the Duke of Sussex would pen his own memoirs when other members of his family have already done the same.

The book is expected to hit the shelves next year - possibly around the time the Queen is celebrating her historic Diamond Jubilee.

Morton said: "I think Harry will focus on his relationship with his father and brother. Obviously, he will include his mother.

"One of the things that everybody has said about Harry is that he’ll give a straight answer to a straight question. And that’s what we can expect."

When it was announced, Harry said he would be writing the book "not as the prince I was born, but as the man I have become".

He stated that it will include "the highs and the lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned".

Buckingham Palace fear further explosive headlines as they pick up the pieces from Harry and Meghan Markle's tell-all Oprah interview.

The Duke has been secretly working on a memoir for nearly a year - and it has triggered a "tsunami of fear" among royal circles.

Royal author and publisher Andrew Lownie believes Harry’s personal account could prove to be a step too far for the Firm.

He told the Express that the memoir could sour Harry's already tricky relationship with his family.

He said: “I think given the fact that he’s doing his tell-all book, I would have thought that’s the final straw for them."

An insider told the Daily Mirror: “Ever since leaving royal life, Harry and Meghan have made claim after claim of how they allege they have been treated.

“They say that it is their truth but there is only ever one truth.

“Since their interview with Oprah Winfrey tensions have been running very high as much of what they said has since been proven to be unreliable at best.

“There is a now tsunami of fear among the royals over what Harry will write."

The book will be published by Penguin Random House UK, with all proceeds to be donated to charity.

Despite profits heading to good causes, two-thirds of Brits says they are 'not interested at all' in reading it.

Over a third say it is "inappropriate" for him to publish it.

In a statement confirming the book, the Duke said: "I've worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story - the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned.

"I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think.

“I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity to share what I've learned over the course of my life so far and excited for people to read a first-hand account of my life that's accurate and wholly truthful.”
