Diana Ross set to perform at Glastonbury Festival 2020

Diana Ross is the first artist confirmed to be performing at next year's Glastonbury Festival.

Announcing her performance in the Legends slot, the Motown singer, 75, tweeted: "This is a dream come true. To all the fans across the world, this is my tribute to you.

"I'm coming to Glastonbury, with love."

This summer, Kylie Minogue performed in the same slot and her set became the most-watched performance in the festival's history.

Dolly Parton and Lionel Richie previously performed there.

Festival organiser Emily Eavis said of the Upside Down and I'm Coming Out singer: "I am delighted to say that one of the all-time greats, the wonderful Diana Ross, is coming to Glastonbury to play the Sunday Legend slot on the Pyramid next year."

Glastonbury celebrates its 50th year in 2020, and Sir Paul McCartney is rumoured to be headlining.

"I'm starting to think about whether I can or whether it would be a good thing," the ex-Beatle has said.

"My kids are saying, 'Dad, we've got to talk about Glastonbury', and I think I know what they mean," Sir Paul recently told The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show.

Tickets for Glastonbury Festival's 50th anniversary sold out in just over half an hour.

All 135,000 tickets for the 2020 event were bought within 34 minutes, according to organisers.

At a performance in the UK in 2008, US star Ross was reported to have taken exception to fans filming her performance.
