Diageo HQ in Edinburgh sold for £1.9 million under asking price

The Edinburgh base of drinks giant Diageo has been sold by its landlord for £6.55 million having been marketed for offers over £8.5 million.

Northwood Regional UK has bought the office building at 4/5 Lochside Way in Edinburgh Park. It was marketed for offers over £8.5 million

Diageo is to due to move out of the 42,000 sq ft grade A property when its tenancy ends in November.

The building currently commands rent of £812,048.25 a year - £19.43 per sq ft - and has 150 parking spaces.

Edinburgh's Lochrin Square fully occupied after remaining lets filled  

CuthbertWhite and Brodies acted for the vendor, which has not been named, while Northwood Regional UK was advised by Savills and Dickson Minto.

Stephen Kay of CuthbertWhite said: “This building is probably one of the most connected within Edinburgh Park, being adjacent to Edinburgh Park Central tram station, and will benefit from Northwood’s ability to reposition the asset following Diageo’s departure.”

There is currently a shortage of Grade A office space in Edinburgh . CuthbertWhite has carried out more than £90 million of Edinburgh office investments over the last 18 months, including Apex 123, Haymarket, Greenside, Blenheim Place and 9-10 St Andrew Square.
