Try this quick dish for Super Bowl Sunday or any time of year. Picadillo or ground meat in a flavor-packed tomato sauce is a popular Cuban dish that is served in many Latin restaurants. There are many picadillo variations, but olives and capers are always part of the recipe. It was served at Sloppy Joe's Bar in Key West over rolls and became known there as Sloppy Joes. On a roll or not, it's a quick and delicious dish that can be made a day ahead or made ahead and frozen for later.
Helpful Hints:
_ Look for lean ground round or sirloin.
_ A quick way to chop fresh herbs, is to wash, dry and snip the leaves with a scissors right off the stem.
_ You'll need chopped onion for both recipes, so prepare it all at once and divide accordingly.
_ If you are pressed for time, use frozen, chopped onion and green pepper.
