Dexter Williams, Kingsley Keke among Packers’ inactives for Week 1 vs. Bears

The Green Bay Packers kept all eight draft picks on their 53-man roster to start the 2019 season, but only five will be active for Week 1 against the Chicago Bears.

Running back Dexter Williams, defensive lineman Kingsley Keke and cornerback Ka’dar Hollman are among the team’s seven inactives for Thursday night.

Without Williams, the Packers will go into the opener with Aaron Jones, Jamaal Williams and fullback Danny Vitale as the three backfield options.

The Packers also made guard Cole Madison and offensive tackle Alex Light inactive. Linebacker Oren Burks (partially torn pec) and receiver Darrius Shepherd (hamstring) were both ruled out on Wednesday.

The Packers only have seven offensive linemen active. Elgton Jenkins and Lucas Patrick are the only backups, and it’s unclear who would be the top backup behind left tackle David Bakhtiari.

Linebacker B.J. Goodson, who was acquired this week from the New York Giants, is active. He hasn’t practiced yet with the Packers.

Here are the full inactives for tonight:

Packers inactives

LB Oren Burks (injured)
CB Ka’dar Hollman (injured)
WR Darrius Shepherd (injured)
G Cole Madison
RB Dexter Williams
DL Kingsley Keke
OT Alex Light

The Bears will be without tight end Trey Burton, who is out with a groin injury.
