May 31--Dexter Fowler will return to the Chicago Cubs' lineup Tuesday night after missing one game because of a sore right heel.
The switch-hitting Fowler is 1-for-9 lifetime against left-hander Scott Kazmir, who will oppose Cubs ace Jake Arrieta at Wrigley Field.
The Cubs are batting .390 with runners in scoring position (23-for-59) during their six-game winning streak.
Jorge Soler will start in left field, with Miguel Montero behind the plate.
Only two other active Cubs have faced Kazmir. David Ross, who will start Wednesday night with Jon Lester on the mound, is hitless in four at-bats against Kazmir. Ben Zobrist, who has a 16-game hitting streak and has reached safely in 35 consecutive starts, is 1-for-7 lifetime against Kazmir.
In other news, the Milwaukee Brewers claimed reliever Neil Ramirez on waivers. Ramirez had been designated for assignment by the Cubs on May 21. Ramirez posted a 2.20 ERA in 77 games with the Cubs from 2014-16, including 78 strikeouts in 65 1/3 innings.
But Ramirez never fully recovered from right shoulder ailments, and he had a 4.70 ERA in eight games with the Cubs this season.
