A devoted Lochmaben couple celebrated their diamond wedding on Wednesday.
Ian and Mary Ross from Mill Road, were married at Irongray Church on July 14, 1961.
The couple have four children, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
They were both brought up in Shawhead and met at a Christmas badminton party at the village hall.
Ian was a shepherd and Mary worked in Grants House Furnishers, then ICI.
After they married, they set up home at Renwick Bank, Dunscore where they stayed for nine years.
They moved to Silverhill Cottage, Beattock in 1970 where Ian worked for the Taylor family up until they retired in 2000 and moved to Lochmaben.
