A "beautiful" couple who were married for 51 years died within a day of one another.
Imelda and Tommy Cummins were described as "two peas in a pod" and remained very close for their half century of marriage.
Imelda, who was originally from East Wall in Dublin, died on Friday, October 15, Dublin Live reported.
Tommy, who was also from the city, lost his life a day later in Beaumont Hospital surrounded by their loving family.
Tributes have flooded in for the pair.
"It is hard for me to get my head around that," a grieving loved one wrote.
"They were a joy to see every week. Always together forever."
The family have not publicly announced what claimed Imelda and Tommy's lives.
Another mourner said: "So very sorry to hear of the loss of Imelda and Tommy. Beautiful couple with a very beautiful family. You are all in our thoughts and prayers xxsandra."
A third person said: "Rip Mel and Tommy I still can’t believe it. Two peas in a pod. Together forever. You guys were simply the best.
"Look over your family and keep them strong they need it now more than ever. X"
A notice on RIP.ie reads: "The deaths have occurred of Imelda and Tommy on October 15th and 16th October 2021, respectively.
"In their 51st year of marriage, both passed away peacefully, in Beaumont Hospital, surrounded by their loving family.
"Tommy and Imelda are loved and missed by their children John, Amanda and Kate, sons-in-law Colm and Dean, daughter-in-law Tracy, their beloved grandchildren Charlie, Luke, Jack, Chloe, Erin, Ollie and Bowie.
"Deeply regretted by their sisters and brothers, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours.
"May they Rest in Peace, together as always."
