Devontae Booker not a fan of Broncos’ pre-Joe Flacco quarterbacks

Timing is everything.

Devontae Booker arrived in Denver in 2016, right after legendary quarterback Peyton Manning retired.

From 2016-2018, Booker played with four different starting quarterbacks: Trevor Siemian, Paxton Lynch, Brock Osweiler and Case Keenum. Those QBs posted combined win-loss records of 20-28.

For comparison, consider that Manning went 50-14 during his four years with the Broncos.

It’s no surprise that Booker apparently wasn’t a big fan of Denver’s previous QBs and he’s excited about the arrival of Joe Flacco.

“He’s such a cool guy,” Booker said of Flacco after practice on May 31. “He talks to everybody in the locker room. Previous quarterback didn’t really do that so much. They’d just be in there on the field, get the job done and we see each other walking through the halls or something — wouldn’t even acknowledge us.

“Flacco, I’d say, is a pretty cool guy. He just brings that leadership ability to all of us out there on the field. He’s won a Super Bowl. He’s just a good guy.”

Booker is about to become a free agent in 2020 so this year may mark his final season with the Broncos. Perhaps Flacco can help him reach the playoffs for the first time in his career, something Denver’s last four quarterbacks weren’t able to accomplish.
