Devonta Smith pretending to steal from Dallas’ Salvation Army bucket was Week 16’s wildest touchdown celebration

We’ve seen some creative touchdown celebrations involving the Salvation Army buckets in the end zone, but Philadelphia Eagles receiver Devonta Smith took things to the next level with what may have been the wildest yet in Week 16’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday.

After scoring a go-ahead nine-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter on a pass from quarterback Gardner Minshew II, Smith pretended to put on a ski mask, kicked down an imaginary door and began miming a robbery of the bucket with teammate Quez Watkins at Dallas’ AT&T Stadium.

The creative (and semi-controversial) scoring celebration after Smith’s second touchdown of the day quickly went viral following the Christmas Eve contest.

Unfortunately for the Eagles, it didn’t catalyze a victory. The Cowboys ultimately won 40-34, handing them their second loss of the season and closing the gap in the NFC East to just two games.

Still, if there were an award for the most creative touchdown celebration of the week, Smith would have my vote.
