DeVonta Smith admits he has a ‘Wawa addiction’

I can still remember the day that Wawa opened in Williamsburg, Virginia. During my final year of law school, the legendary convenience store expanded into town, and my life was changed.

It seems Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith is going through something similar.

While meeting with the media after practice on Thursday, the second-year receiver discussed his “Wawa addiction:”

Smith outlined that in addition to eating a Wawa sandwich every day, his preference is for the honey turkey sandwich. The receiver then dismissed, when asked via a follow-up question, the meatball sandwich.

To each their own I guess.

Even if Eagles fans might not agree with Smith on his choice of Wawa sandwiches — and some might even prefer Sheetz — they are hoping for big things from Smith in his second NFL season. With A.J. Brown across the field from him, and Smith perhaps bulking up on honey turkey sandwiches from Wawa, perhaps that faith will be rewarded.
