Devon Kennard: Lions must ‘continue to get better’ even though they’re unbeaten

Lions linebacker Devon Kennard is off to a hot start to the 2019 season. Kennard has three sacks and six QB pressures in the first two games and has played a big role in Detroit remaining unbeaten so far.

Kennard joined the Jim Rome Show to talk about the first couple of games, the Lions outlook and how the team buys into Matt Patricia’s philosophy of continuous improvement throughout the season.

“Early in the year teams are still figuring themselves out, still working out a lot of kinks,” Kennard told Rome. “Who can execute the best, who can finish for a full four quarters. I don’t think we did that in Week 1.”

The linebacker noted the immediate change in results with the win over the Chargers.

“We were able to do it in Week 2. Now we’ve got to take the lessons and continue to get better and continue to learn…that’s where the good teams become great and the real separation comes.”
