Devin Toner to start for Ireland against England as Iain Henderson withdraws from squad after wife gives birth to baby boy

Devin Toner will start in Ireland's Six Nations clash with England on Sunday.

The veteran second row replaces Iain Henderson, who has withdrawn from the squad due to his wife giving birth to a baby boy.

Toner's 70th cap follows appearances off the bench against Scotland and Wales in the opening two championship fixtures.

His place on the bench goes to Connacht's Ultan Dillane, who last played in the Six Nations in the victory over France last year.

Skipper Johnny Sexton is delighted to see Toner back from the start as Ireland look to clinch the Triple Crown.

"It's brilliant for him," said Sexton.

"Dev had a big setback at a bad time for him last year but he got some reception against Scotland when he came on, he got a bit of stick for it!

"England have made a few changes, a few unexpected things, but we'll catch up on those this afternoon and this evening. England have so much depth, and they're very lucky to have it.

"We're going to be preparing for the best England that we've seen in this championship. But you can't have more motivation than going to Twickenham looking for the Triple Crown.

"We have to make up a 50-point margin from when we last played them and it's been a good week figuring that out."

IRELAND: Larmour, Conway, Henshaw, Aki, Stockdale, Sexton, Murray; Healy, Herring, Furlong, Ryan, Toner, O'Mahony, van der Flier, Stander.

Replacements: Kelleher, Kilcoyne, Porter, Dillane, Doris, Cooney, Byrne, Earls.
