Devilish new vegan restaurant Seitans Corner to open in Bristol

An experienced chef who has worked in the kitchens of restaurants across Europe is opening a dirty vegan restaurant in Bristol.

Seb Marvani will launch Seitans Corner in the site previously home to Koocha on Zetland Road, which is operating from a temporary site before its permanent move to the old Flour & Ash site on Cheltenham Road.

Having worked as a chef on and off for 16 years across the UK, Greece and Sweden, Seb is looking forward to launching his first restaurant alongside his dad Kazem, who owns the building.

"Tier 3 has made opening a new restaurant a little tricky but we're now finalising a few bits and bobs before opening in the next couple of weeks," said the 37-year-old.

"I'm chomping at the bit to get going and can't wait to show off our menu, which we think both vegans and meat eaters will enjoy.

"We've carried out a complete transformation of the site and it looks completely different to how it did. While Koocha specialises in Persian mezze dishes, at Seitans Corner we're going to be doing vegan mac 'n' cheese, burgers and fresh grilled sides."

Themed items on the menu include the 'Beezlebub Burger', which sees a seitan patty covered in vegan cheese, jalapenos and padron peppers, and the 'Hell Freezes Over' dessert of deep fried ice cream balls.

Those who like their food with an added kick can opt for the 'Do Fear The Reaper' sauce, which is so fiery it comes with a health warning to customers.

To continue the hellish theme, the selection of beers on offer includes Hells from Camden Town Brewery.

"After being a chef and sous-chef for over a decade I can't wait to be at the helm of a restaurant," added Seb.

"Our menu allows people to be vegan without the sacrifice. The response from the local community has been really positive so far with lots of people saying they're looking forward to us opening."

With Seb heading up the kitchen, Seitans Corner will initially launch for collection and delivery before welcoming dine-in customers when Bristol comes out of Tier 3.
