Devilish Ally McCoist risks Celtic fan wrath as Rangers legend reignites Kyogo row with loaded one liner

Insistent Ally McCoist admits he remains a major fan of Kyogo but couldn't resist aiming a loaded jab at the striker over claims he is too quick to hit the deck.

The Japanese international has been a smash-hit with Celtic this season, with his all-action displays turning heads under Ange Postecoglou 's stewardship.

The Celtic boss was less than impressed earlier this week when informed that some believe Kyogo has a flair for the dramatic, with the 56-year-old insisting his star man is facing players "almost a foot taller than him".

But McCoist couldn't resist a fresh swipe aimed in the direction of the forward as he enjoyed another lively debate with on-air sparring partner Chris Sutton.

The Celtic hero put his pal on the spot over comments on Thursday where he suggested Joe Aribo shouldn't have hurdled a challenge inside the Lyon box.

Speaking on Scottish Football Extra, McCoist said: "Somebody was telling me wee Kyogo went into the press conference last week, someone turned on the air conditioning and he went down because of the wind.

"Big Ange won't thank me, he won't agree with me because I saw Big Ange's comments.

"Yes, the lad is a breath of fresh air and he has been fantastic, however, he is more than capable of going down with that breath of fresh air, that's the problem I've got about Kyogo."

The 26-year-old is facing a stint on the sidelines after he pulled with an apparent hamstring injury in Thursday's 3-2 win over Real Betis.
