A trusted babysitter later found to be a devil-worshipper took a six-month-old boy into the woods and killed him, Russian police say.
Viktoria Aimetdinova, 23, 'took revenge' after the baby’s adult half-brother - her boyfriend - planned to dump her, it is alleged.
Detectives state the child in the Russian town of Zavodoukovsk was strangled while his parents had gone to a funeral.
After a frantic police search, the sitter was allegedly found carrying the child's corpse in woodland.
A video shows her in handcuffs after she was detained over the baby Bogdan's death.
The Russian Investigative Committee said a criminal probe is underway into the kidnapping and murder of the child.
The boy’s mother Natalya Gafner said she trusted the babysitter and knew her well.
But she recently had what is described as a major row with her boyfriend Andrey Gafner, the son of her husband Igor, 50, she said.
The man had told her he wanted to end their relationship.
Speaking before her baby’s body had been found, Natalya said: “I am sure Viktoria took revenge on her boyfriend.”
The woman had posted disturbing social media messages and told a friend several days earlier that she was about to become a “star”.
She posted: “Antichrist is the one, and it's me.
"I see the devil in everyone.”
She wrote: “Mankind brings itself to hell. The countdown will start from the moment of the coming war.”
The bereaved parents and the woman’s boyfriend were too traumatised to speak after the child’s body was found.
