'Development opportunity' next to historic North Wales market hall is up for sale

A development opportunity next to an historic market hall has gone up for sale.

Planning permission was secured around 10 years ago to build 11 apartments on land adjacent to Holyhead Market Hall. That property was built in 1855 but had lain empty for 20 years with its condition deteriorating significantly.

But a major regeneration project backed by EU, Welsh Government and National Lottery funding has transformed its fortunes. The building is now home to the town’s library and provides an event and meeting space for the community and offices for new and growing businesses.

The land next to the site was never developed and is now on the market with Admove estate agents for £130,000. Planning has now lapsed.

Admore said: "This is development opportunity land available in the centre of Holyhead.

"Adjacent to the Market Hall in Holyhead Town Centre, this plot of land offers potential for further development for approximately 11 apartments with a mixture of one and two bedroom apartments. Planning permission expired in November 2017."
