One potential worry: lead-free solders may not be as resilient as lead-based ones, so if you drop your cellphone, it may break the contacts. But I find this less worrying than another case Intel's Terrence McManus raised: avionics. "We've been building planes for decades using lead solders. What happens if you build them with lead-free solders? We don't know."
