Developer splashes more than €6million on south Dublin site tipped for housing

Plans are being discussed for the construction of a new residential site in Goatstown Road, Dublin 14 after a developer splashed over €6.6 million on the property.

O'Reilly-Hyland secured the 0.84 acre site which was occupied by car dealership Charles Hurst Premium until recently.

Student accommodation providers and residential developers alike were interested in the deal.

The site is located a short distance from UCD, and includes a large car park area and garage workshop.

While the property doesn't currently have planning permission, according to an Irish Times report, it is zoned for residential development.

It is located in one of Dublin's most sought-after areas and is served by various Dublin Bus routes as well as being within walking distance of numerous Luas green line stops.

Apart from being situated close to the city centre itself, local services include Dundrum Town Centre, as well as Elm Park and Milltown golf clubs.

It is also located close to the gorgeous south Dublin coastline, the views of which are one of the major bonuses of living in the area.
