Developer Bellway submits plans for 119 new homes in Stoke-on-Trent

Plans have been drawn up for 119 new homes in Stoke-on-Trent.

Developer Bellway West Midlands has applied for full planning permission for the scheme on land off Trentham Road, in the Hem Heath area of the city.

The proposals, which are currently being considered by Stoke-on-Trent City Council, comprise 90 houses for private sale and 29 homes designated as affordable housing for local people.

A range of two, three and four-bedroom houses will be available to buy and there will also be areas of public open space for residents and local people.

Marie Richards, sales director for Bellway West Midlands, said: "We have carefully planned the new homes to meet the housing needs of local people and the growing demand for new homes in the area.

"There will be a variety of homes for buyers at all stage of the property ladder, while the designs of the properties have been influenced by existing local architecture to complement the surrounding neighbourhood.

"The scheme will also provide public open space for the local community and retain some mature trees and hedgerows on site.

"This is a really sustainable location for new homes, with key amenities such as schools and shops close by.

"Transport links are good too – it’s just four miles to Junction 15 of the M6 and close to the A50 for the city centre and Derby.

"We hope our plans are approved in due course, so we can begin construction work on site to deliver these much-needed new homes."
