Devastation as car ploughs over front garden and smashes into house in Farnley, Leeds

A car has smashed into the side of a house in Farnley.

Debris was scattered about the driveway in Butterbowl Drive, the garden fence and wheelie bins left damaged and upturned.

The damaged house is located on the corner of a sharp downhill bend..

Impact occurred at about 6pm yesterday (January 9), and West Yorkshire Police say the driver left the scene.

Reports suggest a van hit a wall, causing the car to go into the house, says a force spokesperson. No injuries were reported.

A surveyor attended to assess the damage and the house was said to be safe.

A man in his thirties is being spoken to by police officers today in connection with the incident and enquiries are continuing.
