Devastated pals of tragic East Kilbride man Ryan Coleman plan to raise cash for his family

Pals of a tragic East Kilbride man will hold a fundraising event to raise money for his family.

Ryan Coleman 's body was found on Tuesday in a wooded area near to the town's Langlands Road .

A frantic search operation was put in place by Police Scotland to find the 20-year-old who was last seen on Friday, June 28 at his home in Rydal Grove, Greenhills .

Devastated friends are now planning to host a special event at The Westwood Bar later this month on July 21 from 7pm.

The event is being held at The Westwood Bar in East Kilbride (East Kilbride News)

Raffles and prizes will be up for grabs for those in attendance with cash going to help Ryan's family with funeral costs.

The event will also allow people to speak about mental health and for them to open up.

Chantelle Stewart, a friend of Ryan's, up with the event.

In a Facebook post she said: "In memory of Ryan Coleman myself and friends have managed to get the Westwood bar function rooms for the 21st of July.

"Please all come along and help us raise money for the family in memory of Ryan, we have lots of raffles to be Ryan would of loved all the support everyone has given so please everyone come along and have drink in memory of Ryan Coleman #dontsufferinsilence #letstalk."

People attending are asked to donate £5 at the door to contribute to Ryan's family.
