Devastated mum of four twin boys killed in fire says she'll 'never get over' their deaths

A mother who lost four young children after a house fire in south London has paid tribute to her sons.

Deveca Rose's two sets of twins, Kyson and Bryson, 4, and Leyton and Logan, 3, were rescued by firefighters from their home in Sutton, South London on Thursday, December 16 but could not be saved.

Their mother has said she will “never get over their deaths”.

The Mirror reports it’s thought the young boys' lungs were overcome by the smoke and they died before firefighters could reach them.

Ms Rose, 27, told The Times she’s devastated the boys were taken so soon.

She said: “Bryson, Kyson, Logan and Leyton were my boys, they were my babies, they were my life, they were my world.

“I can’t get over it, I’ll never get over it."

The heartbroken parent added: “They lit up everybody’s world and I will always be sorry that they went so soon. They had so much planned and now they’re gone.

"I wake up and I look at their Christmas tree and I look at their clothes, their Liverpool [football] kit, their Cocomelon dressing gowns, their drawings."

The mum said that her sons enjoyed spending time with their grandparents and were creative, often singing, dancing, making art and baking.

The boy’s father Dalton Hoath, 28, said he doesn’t know how he will carry on his life without his beloved sons. He added: “It’s a miracle I haven’t lost the plot already.”

The devoted dad said the foursome had been talking about their upcoming first football match that would have been carrying on a family tradition, as the family have supported Wimbledon for years.

The youngsters' grandfather Jason Hoath shared a moving tribute on Facebook in which he describes them as his “smart and beautiful grandsons”.

He wrote: "I am devastated to say that the horrendous house fire that took place in Sutton last night leading to four children losing their lives were my amazing, smart and beautiful grandsons.

"Kyson and Bryson, aged four, and Leyton and Logan, aged three, were taken too soon they will always be in our hearts and thoughts.

"Boys, I love you forever. Grandad xxx".

Mr Hoath, a security officer at AFC Wimbledon, identified the boys in hospital with his son Dalton and said they looked “like angels”.

London Fire Commissioner Andy Roe said firefighters were “numb with profound sadness” after the tragedy. Staff members involved in the incident will be offered counselling ”as a priority”.

Mr Roe added: “My thoughts are with the family and friends of the children, the whole local community and all those who will be affected by this fire."

A 27-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of child neglect and released on police bail on Saturday until mid-January.
