Devastated mum catches nanny in a lie after tracking son's location in pram

A mum is livid with her son's nanny after catching her in a lie about where she took her tot, and she wants to confront her.

Before starting the job, the nanny was told that if she ever took the child out and about, they should stick to the park by the mum's house.

But recently, the mum saw through a tracking tag on her son's pram that they were actually in what appeared to be the nanny's house.

In her Mumsnet post, the mum added that she wants to confront the nanny about the lie as she's upset that she broke the rules.

The mum, who remained anonymous, wrote: "So far she has been really good with my son, and seems to genuinely like children. I provided her with some rules upon starting, one of them was if out walking to stick to the park adjacent to our house, so that I know where they are.

"A few days ago she asked if she could take him out in the pram. Like any self respecting crazy mum, I had previously put an air tag in the pram. Not just for her but when grand parents take him out etc. My bad - maybe I should have told her this."

During the time they were out, the mum tracked them and saw they were in what appeared to be the nanny's house as the mum knew she lived on that street - which raised alarm bells.

"With the benefit of hindsight maybe she needed the toilet or needed something from her house and didn't feel that she could say because I had said stay in the park," she said.

"I asked her 'where did you get to?' And she said 'just the park'. Achingly, she described a particular area in the park which I know full well they didn't go to. I was still a bit shaken and decided not to challenge her.

"I know that realistically my son is not likely to be in any danger, but I cannot rest with the fact that, I'm trusting her with the most precious thing in my life, and I am struggling with the fact that she has lied. On the other hand, maybe I was in the wrong to track them without saying!"

In response, many agreed with the mum's concerns and said she should be fired as she lied.

One person wrote: "That's a really difficult situation. You can't trust her. You will have to have that conversation with her unfortunately."

While another stated: "If you don't trust her you should probably find someone else."
