Devastated mother of tragic Tallaght siblings pays poignant funeral tribute as trio buried together

The devastated family and friends of the tragic Tallaght siblings who died in horrific circumstances gathered for their funeral mass at 10am today.

The congregation were told that Lisa Cash's eight-year-old siblings Chelsea and Christy Cawley were her "whole life" and that she was the "mammy" of her friend group.

A huge crowd gathered after the three white coffins were brought by horse drawn carriages to St Aidan's Church.

The children were remembered for their kind-hearted nature with their deaths shocking the entire community.

Their heartbroken mother Margaret was in the congregation with the trio's older sister Margaret, and brother Mikey.

In a poignant tribute, she arrived at the funeral wearing a white shirt with photographs of her three children and the writing: "Our three angels".

Fr O’Driscoll and local parish priest Fr Bill O’Shaughnessy tried to give comfort to the family and wider community with people being asked to pray for the children's mam.

The cortege went past Rossfield Avenue, where the family lived with a wide range of speedy cars and motorbikes following the children towards their final resting place.

A Lightning McQueen car was brought to the funeral- a tribute to young Christy's great love of cars. An emotional friend of Lisa said the group don't know how they will go on without her. She said that she was dedicated to looking after her younger siblings.

She said: "I will never forget you. My heart is completely shattered. You were my best friend. You were the mammy of the group. How are we meant to do this without you? You had so many plans for your future. A piece of my heart is completely broken. There were your whole life. You were always there for them and when you weren't there you were talking about them."

Their bodies will be bought Bohernabreena Cemetery where they will be buried together. Andy Cash was charged with the murders of his younger siblings. The 24-year-old was remanded in custody until next Friday.
