'Devastated' Morgan Whittaker makes his feelings crystal clear in Instagram post after Swansea City terminate Plymouth Argyle loan

Swansea City youngster Morgan Whittaker admits he's 'devastated' that his season-long loan spell at Plymouth Argyle has been cut short.

The Swans confirmed their decision to recall the versatile forward on Tuesday evening, following the 21-year old's impressive recent showings for the Pilgrims.

Whittaker netted nine goals for Argyle, who are currently top of League One, and clearly enjoyed life on the Devon coast, with the club exploring several avenues in a bid to keep him at Home Park, including a possible permanent deal.

However, Plymouth's efforts have seemingly been in vain, with the Swans making the decision to bring him back to SA1.

The decision has clearly not gone down well with Plymouth, and indeed with the player himself, who took to Instagram to seemingly express his frustration at the move.

As well as posting a picture of himself and Argyle boss Steven Schumacher alongside an angry face emoji on his Instagram story, Whittaker also uploaded a post with a caption that appeared to more explicitly express his disappointment.

He wrote: "I just wanted to say a huge thank you to the fans, the players and the staff at @argyle. This club is so special to me and some of my best moments of my career happened here.

"I am devastated that I could not continue here for the whole season, but I hope the pilgrims go and get promotion, because they deserve it. We will be supporting from afar, up the argyle"

It remains to be seen what sort of role the forward will play upon his return to SA1. It's possible he may yet be sold before the window closes.

However, he will be given the chance to impress when he returns to Fairwood, although his apparent frustrations over leaving the Pilgrims prematurely will likely need to be addressed.
