Devastated Hollyoaks fans threaten boycott as Tony is murdered after 24 years

Devastated Hollyoaks fans are threatening to boycott the soap after Tony Hutchinson was murdered.

The much-loved character, nicknamed 'Mr Hollyoaks', was brutally struck down in the street by evil serial killer Breda McQueen on tonight's E4 first look episode.

Nick Pickard has been playing the soap favourite for a staggering 24 years - with his first episode airing in October 1995.

Horrified Hollyoaks viewers are insisting they won't watch the soap again as they struggle to come to terms with Tony's untimely demise.

In his final moments, Tony was visited by his late son Harry Thompson before seemingly dying as Breda menacingly watched over him.

Outraged Hollyoaks fans took to Twitter to slam the show for getting rid of it's best loved character.

One angry viewer said: "worst. storyline. ever. bring him back"

"Not happy at all. He should have been the one to kill Breda hollyoaks fan for years..... fuming," added another.

A third agreed: "Tony did not spend 25 years on the show to get killed off by an annoying old lady who thinks she knows someone after about 30 seconds"

"Well hollyoaks just became s***.. well done youve officially killed off all the decent characters..," said a fourth.

Tony was seemingly killed after discovering that Breda was responsible for multiple murders in the village.

He figured out that she was the killer after finding a teddy bear identical to the ones given to the children of her victims - including his grandson Isaac.

Furious Tony realised she had killed Louis Loveday, Russ Owen, Glenn Donovan, Mac Nightingale and Carl Costello.

Tony then confirmed his theory by ringing Harry's phone, proving that Breda had murdered her son.

When Tony insisted she needed help, Breda cried: "But I am helping Tony. I am helping rid the world of useless and reprobate dads."

As Tony told Breda she was "finished", she appeared to plunge a knife into his stomach.

Tony's life flashed before him as he sank to the ground clutching the teddy bear.

A hallucination of Harry then appeared to tell Tony everything was okay before he appeared to die.

Have Hollyoaks actually just killed off Tony?
