Devastated friend pays tribute to man found dead in Clydebank canal as funeral appeal launched

A pal of a tragic man found dead in a canal has launched a fundraiser to raise money for his funeral.

Scott Anderson, 51, was last seen on Friday, October 2 around 11.30pm near the bus stop in Chalmers Street, Clydebank.

His body was found in the canal in the town centre at around 5.20pm on Thursday.

His friend Tracy Kelly now want to raise £600 for Scott’s funeral.

She wrote: “So sad to be doing this but I want to try and raise some money to help Scott’s family with any costs and to help give Scott the send off he deserves.

"Scott was taken in a tragic accident way before his time.

“I’ve known Scott since we started Primary 1 and we were always good friends all through school and I am absolutely gutted at his passing.

"Would be greatly appreciated if you could contribute something, no matter how much.
