Devastated family pays tribute to 'much loved' dad who died in a collision in Bowburn

A family have paid tribute to a 'much-loved' dad who died in a collision in County Durham.

Ryan Turner was involved in a collision on the A688 bypass on on Sunday, September 5 that tragically also resulted in the d eath of Lyndsey Watkins.

Ryan, 27, was in a grey BMW when it was involved in a collision on the A688 bypass at around 1.30am.

He and Lyndsey, 31, were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Ryan’s family have today paid tribute to him, saying: “Ryan was a much-loved daddy, son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend who will be greatly missed.”

The family have asked for privacy as they grieve together.

Police have said an investigation into the circumstances of the collision is currently underway.

A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said: "Anybody with dashcam footage of the BMW prior to the collision, or with information relating to the incident, is asked to contact Durham Police on 101, quoting incident number 121 of September 5."
