Damian Hurley has shared an update following the shock death of his father, Steve Bing, who died on Monday of an apparent suicide.
The 18-year-old model and actor is the son of British actress Elizabeth Hurley, 55, and the late American businessman – who was also 55-years-old when he passed away.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Damian shared a photo of a peaceful sunset while sharing his thoughts and feelings after the death of his father.
He wrote: “Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone that has reached out following the devastating news.
“I’m trying to reply to as many of you as I can, but please know I will always remember your kindness.
“This is a very strange and confusing time and I’m immensely grateful to be surrounded by my phenomenal family and friends.”
Moments earlier, Damian’s mother shared a series of photos of herself with Steve on her own Instagram feed along with a heartfelt tribute to the businessman.
She wrote: “I am saddened beyond belief that my ex Steve is no longer with us. It is a terrible end.
“Our time together was very happy and I’m posting these pictures because although we went through some tough times, it’s the good, wonderful memories of a sweet, kind man that matter.
“In the past year we had become close again. We last spoke on our son’s 18th birthday. This is devastating news and I thank everyone for their lovely messages.”
Elizabeth and Steve enjoyed a romance in the early years of the century.
The former couple are believed to have dated in 2000 and welcomed their son in 2002, after they had split.
On Monday TMZ reported that Steve had been "depressed" about being isolated and the lack of human contact during the coronavirus lockdown, but it's currently unclear if this had anything to do with his apparent suicide.
