The dad of a 12-year-old girl who was stabbed to death has spoken out for the first time.
Ava White was in Liverpool city centre with friends when she was stabbed in the neck with a knife at around 8.30pm on November 25.
Police believe a ‘verbal argument’ took place, which resulted in the young girl being attacked and suffering ‘catastrophic injuries’.

Dad Robert Martin said the family were 'completely devastated' and 'heartbroken’ following Ava’s death, reports the Echo.
He said: “We would like to say thank you to everybody for their ongoing support during this devastating time.
“Thank you to every one of you for your kind messages and donations.
“As Ava’s family we are completely devastated and heartbroken by what has happened and we ask that you respect our privacy at this time and allow us to grieve as a family.”

A 14-year-old boy, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, appeared in Liverpool Crown Court on November 29 charged with murder.
The boy, from South Liverpool, will appear for a plea and trial preparation hearing on February 18 next year.
The Honorary Recorder of Liverpool then listed a provisional trial for May 16, with an estimated length of two to three weeks.
The 14-year-old was refused bail and remanded the boy in secure accommodation until his next appearance.
Ava, a Year 8 pupil at Notre Dame Catholic College, was described by those who knew her as "unique" and "hugely" popular.

Tributes to the 12-year-old including flowers, balloons, pictures and teddy bears continue to be laid in Church Street.
A school tie was left at the tribute site which says "fly high".
Next to the tie was a candle which had a message written on it in black pen, which said: "To Ava you will forever be missed. Miss you so much love Lillie."
Another candle said: "To Ava you will be missed. Can't believe you have gone, love Eva."
A personalised Liverpool FC shirt was also tied to a post in memory of the schoolgirl.
