Detroit Pistons' Derrick Rose reportedly a trade target for 76ers, Lakers

As the NBA trade deadline nears, circumstances continue to point to the Detroit Pistons being sellers.

And other teams continue to circle over the Pistons' roster like buzzards in the desert.

Yahoo! Sports' Chris Haynes reports that the Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Lakers, among other NBA title contenders, have expressed an interest in acquiring Derrick Rose via trade.

The 31-year-old Rose signed a two-year, $15 million deal in the summer with the Pistons. Prior to Monday's loss in Washington, he was averaging 18.3 points and 5.9 assists per game.

He has scored 20 or more points in nine straight games, having been moved into the starting lineup.

Haynes also reports that Rose isn't looking to be traded, and that the former NBA MVP last week asked to play more minutes. Although he averages just 25.8 minutes per game this season as a way to minimize wear and tear, he is averaging 31 minutes per game in the past five games.

If the Pistons do trade Rose, it would create a big hole at point guard, and not just this season. Reggie Jackson, who has missed all but two games this season with a back injury, is a free agent this summer, as is Tim Frazier.

Haynes reported last week that the trade talks between the Pistons and Atlanta Hawks over Andre Drummond have died down. Drummond is expected to opt for free agency this summer and The Athletic's Sam Amick reported the Hawks "could have landed Drummond already if they were willing to include a first-round pick in the deal."
