Detroit Lions sign former Ohio State guard Jonah Jackson

Former Ohio State guard Jonah Jackson has officially inked his contract with the Detroit Lions. The 6-foot, 4-inch talent was drafted by the Lions in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft after transferring from Rutgers to Ohio State for his senior season.

He was an honorable mention Big-Ten performer for the Scarlet Knights, but playing in Columbus improved the exposure and ultimately, his draft stock at the next level. And now it has all paid off with a rookie contract that is reportedly in the neighborhood of $4.7 million over four years with a signing bonus of just over $1 million.

Jackson helped anchor an offensive line that paved the way for 2,000-yard rusher J.K. Dobbins, on a team that was No. 5 in the country on gobbling up yards on the ground. He was also equally adept at pass protection, unofficially giving up just one sack the entire season.

And now, he can put the business side of things on the back burner for now and focus on development and acclimation on the field.
