Detroit Lions promote scouts, add more to personnel staff

Two veteran scouts with over a decade of service inside the Lions organization were promoted by the team on Saturday. Rob Lohman is the new director of pro scouting, while Dave Sears has been promoted to director of college scouting.

Lohman, who has been with the Lions since 2007, replaces Brendan Prophett, who was released early from his expiring contract in April. He has worked his way up from scouting assistant through various personnel gigs, including director of collegiate scouting.

Sears was the team’s assistant director of college scouting. He also joined Detroit in 2007. He has had the primary responsibility of scouting the southeast region.

In addition to the promotions, the Lions bolstered the scouting ranks. Noor Davis and Jordan Martin have been hired as scouts, while Justin Licker was hired to a full-time pro scout after being an assistant in 2018.
