Lisa D’Amour’s award–winning comedy Detroit captures the crumbling suburban dream in precarious economic times. The play was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and will be directed by Ross McGregor for this Australian premier.

Ben and Mary are a young couple who live in suburban Detroit, who have been hard-hit by the recent economic downturn. Ben’s lost his job and Mary’s discovered alcohol. Another young couple, Sharon and Kenny, who are broke and fresh out of rehab move in next door. As they welcome their new neighbours, Ben and Mary realise they have more in common with Sharon and Kenny than expected.
