Detector dog Bailey helps Revenue officers seize €32,000 worth of cannabis in Dublin

Revenue officers seized 1.6kg of herbal cannabis earlier today with the help of detector dog Bailey.

The illegal drugs were found by the canine veteran during routine operations in Dublin Mail Centre.

The cannabis has an estimated street value of €32,000.

The drugs were found in a number of parcels with labels such as 'children's toys', ‘candle set’, ‘teddy bear’, ‘beauty kit’, ‘tent’, and ‘sweaters/sweatpants’.

Revenue says all of the parcels came from the United States and were destined for an undisclosed address in Dublin.

This seizure is part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting the smuggling of illegal drugs.

If businesses or members of the public have any information regarding smuggling, they can contact Revenue in confidence on Confidential Phone Number 1800 295 295.
