A man accused of dealing drugs and leading police on a chase in a BMW has been arrested in Newcastle.
Detectives from the Oxley Police District launched Strike Force Bogangate II to investigate the ongoing supply of drugs in the state's north-west.
Highway patrol police tried to stop a BMW sedan on Jewry Street at Taminda, a suburb of Tamworth, on May 22 but launched a pursuit when it allegedly failed to pull over.
The chase continued to Timbumburi, about 20 kilometres south of Tamworth, when the BMW came to a stop.
Police arrested a 43-year-old man. During a vehicle search, they allegedly uncovered and seized 68 grams of methamphetamine and $7445 in cash.
The man was taken to Tamworth Police Station and charged with seven offences, including pursuit, driving recklessly or dangerously, driving disqualified, supplying drugs, and a weapons offence, among others.
Police will allege in court that the man was involved in the ongoing supply of drugs in the Tamworth area.
He was refused bail to face Tamworth Local Court in August, but further investigations led Oxley detectives to travel to Newcastle Police Station on Wednesday, where they arrested the man again.
He was further charged with three counts of supplying drugs on an ongoing basis, and supplying a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug.
The man was again refused bail to face Tamworth Local Court at a later date.
Police said Strike Force Bogangate II investigations continue. Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
