Detectives seek cyclist spotted after woman's shooting death

Police want to speak to this cyclist seen at Woodridge around the time Ms Kirley was killed.

Brisbane detectives have released CCTV footage of a cyclist they want to speak to as they continue their investigation into the shooting death of a woman at Karawatha on Brisbane's southern outskirts last week.

The body of 40-year-old Megan Kirley was discovered on a rural property on Wembley Drive about 3:00am last Saturday after police were called to reports of a shooting.

In the video released today, a man wearing an orange hi-vis shirt is seen cycling on Railway Parade at 3:14am.

Police said the vision was captured from nearby Woodridge railway station and have urged anyone with information about the cyclist in the footage to contact them.

"As part of the ongoing investigation, detectives are reviewing all available CCTV footage and attempting to identify anyone and any vehicles captured on vision in the area," a police statement said.

Meanwhile, the rural property remains a crime scene, with police simulating gunshots as part of acoustic testing at the site on Friday night.

Police have been working extensive hours on the case, with specialist officers from scientific and scenes of crime, as well as volunteers from the State Emergency Service, carrying out searches of the property all week.

Last weekend, a 43-year-old man who made the triple zero call to police and was believed to be in a relationship with Ms Kirley was released without charge.

"R.I.P Megan Kirley. The greatest woman this world was ever graced with," he wrote on social media.

Police are continuing to ask anyone who was travelling between Wembley Road between 2:45am and 3:20am to contact them.
