Detectives probe death of man, 48, in Easter disturbance

A 48-year-old man has died following a disturbance on a Lanarkshire street.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident at Airdrie High Street at 4.40pm on Easter Sunday.

Detective Inspector John Lewis, of Lanarkshire CID is leading the investigation.

He said: "Police were called around 4.40pm on Sunday, following reports of a disturbance on High Street, Airdrie.

"A 48-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene."

"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
