Detectives name victims after two deaths in Dagenham

Police investigating the deaths of two people in Dagenham, east London, have named the victims.

Metropolitan Police officers were called shortly before 1pm on August 8 to the Whalebone Lane South area following reports of an unresponsive person.

Members of the London Ambulance Service also attended and a 30-year-old woman, who has now been named as Esther Egbon, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Around two hours later, officers and paramedics attended the Gosfield Road area where a 36-year-old man was found unresponsive.

He was later pronounced dead at the scene and has since been named as Igie Erabor.

The pair are thought to have known each other and specialist officers are supporting their families.

Post mortems have since established both died following an incised wound to the neck.

No arrests have been made and Scotland Yard said they are currently not seeking further parties in connection with the deaths.

An investigation continues to establish the full circumstances.
