Detectives have locked down a Kilsyth street after a body was discovered this afternoon.
Officers and ambulance crews raced to Stirling Road just before 3pm following the grim find.
Eyewitnesses say there’s police tape and a plastic sheet around the scene near Banton Loch.
One woman said: “I was out walking the dog earlier and noticed a police van with its lights flashing.”
“As I got closer I could see tap and a big blue plastics sheet thing.”
“It was like police were trying to hide something from the public.”
Police Scotland have this evening confirmed a body was found, but gave no further details.
