Detectives investigating the murder of 17-year-old Mohamoud Mohamed have made another arrest

Detectives investigating the murder of a teenage boy in Moss Side have made another arrest.

Mohamoud Mohamed, 17, known to pals as Momo, was stabbed to death during a clash on Sunday, July 26.

Four other teenagers were also stabbed in the incident on Henbury Street.

On Monday police said a 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

He remains in custody for questioning.

Four teenage boys – two aged 15 and two aged 17 – previously arrested in connection with the incident have since been released and face no further action.

A 16-year-old was previously arrested on suspicion of murder.

On Monday a 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Manchester magistrates' court accused of Mohamoud's murder.

The boy was remanded into youth detention accommodation and will next appear at Manchester Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on August 4.
