Detectives investigating alleged attempted murder seeking witness known as 'Craig Batman'

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward following an alleged attempted murder.

At 9.38pm on Sunday, December 29, police were called to Llys Buddug in Pendalar, Caernarfon following reports that a 35-year-old man from the area had been stabbed a number of times.

North Wales Police detective chief inspector Brian Kearney: "His injuries were initially assessed as life-threatening and he was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

“Fortunately, following emergency surgery, he is now is a stable condition in Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor .

“We are grateful to the ambulance crew and emergency team at Ysbyty Gwynedd for their work in saving this man’s life. A dedicated team of detectives based at Caernarfon Police Station are investigating this serious incident.”

A 33-year-old man arrested in connection with incident and has been released on conditional police bail pending further inquiries.

Police are now appealing for two "key witnesses" to come forward.

Detective chief inspector Kearney added: "I would appeal for anyone with any information in connection with this serious assault to come forward and speak to us in confidence quoting reference number 19100760630.

“We are still keen to trace two key witnesses who are local to the Caernarfon area – 24-year-old Mark Griffiths who is also known locally as Mark Fango and 34-year-old Craig Oulton who is known locally as Craig Batman.

"We would be grateful if they would come forward voluntarily as we believe they may have information which could be crucial to the investigation. At this moment in time we are not seeking anyone else in respect of this attempted murder/wounding offence.”
