Detectives hunt firebugs who torched car on Hurlford street

Detectives are hunting firebugs who torched a car in Ayrshire this week.

The white Suzuki hatchback was set on fire at around 11pm on Monday in Cessnock Drive, Hurlford.

Police are keen to speak with two men that were spotted in the street where the attack took place and at nearby Sherwood Road area.

Detective Constable Danny Ver Berne of Kilmarnock CID said: "I would appeal to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious at the time of the fire. Fortunately no one was injured but the car was extensively damaged.

“In particular we would like to speak to two men seen in the street where this happened and also seen in the nearby Sherwood Road area.

“Anyone who has private CCTV footage of dash-cam if they were driving nearby at the time is also asked to get in touch.

“Anyone who can help is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3994 of Monday, February 8, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
